The Online Forum on Anti-VAWC and Anti-Sexual Harassment aims to increase awareness and serves as an education campaign to eliminate sexual harassment in the office. The DPWH GFPS invited PCOL Joy Equia Tomboc, Chief of the Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Division of the PNP Women and Children Protection Center as resource person for the particular topic
PCOL. Joy Tomboc presented the salient points of Republic Act 7877 also known as “Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995” and Republic Act 9262 “Anti-Violence Against Women their Children Act (Anti-VAWC)”. She discussed the various forms of VAWC and the penalties for committing VAWC. She also encouraged those who have knowledge of someone who are victims of violence or the victims themselves to speak up and to report to the authorities.
