The 680-meter flyover project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) connecting Circumferential Road 5 (C-5) to Quirino Highway in Las Piñas City was recently completed and is now open for the motoring public.

In a report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH Assistant Secretary Nerie D. Bueno and DPWH National Capital Region Director Loreta M. Malaluan said that the project dubbed C-5-Quirino Flyover was formally opened with a ceremonial inauguration held Wednesday, April 24, 2024.

Also present during the inauguration were Senators Cynthia A. Villar and Mark A. Villar, DPWH NCR Assistant Regional Director Joel F. Limpengco, and DPWH Las Piñas-Muntinlupa District Engineer Isabelo C. Baleros.

According to Director Malaluan, the newly-opened flyover now helps alleviate traffic congestion within the city, particularly benefiting motorists and commuters traversing the existing road below going to Zapote in Las Piñas City, Sucat in Paranaque City, as well as Coastal Road going to areas of Cavite Province.

Completed in the amount of P300.39 million, the C-5-Quirino Flyover project which commenced civil works in September 2020, involves the construction of a 2-lane flyover which is composed of 390-meter bridge proper length and 290-meter bridge approach.

The flyover project also covers a drainage system and road lighting facilities, and reflectorized thermoplastic pavement markings, as additional safety features for road users.
