Low-lying areas near Tuganay River in Barangay Kinamayan, Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte are now guaranteed enhanced safety and protection following the construction of flood mitigation structures that aim to alleviate recurring flooding and water overflow in the community.

In a report to Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH Region Office XI Director Juby B. Cordon said that the completion of dike and drainage canal structures in Barangay Kinamayan is imperative to manage the lingering effect of flooding that has been causing extensive damage to properties in the area.

Upgraded Road Enhances Commuters Safety in Tabuk City, Kalinga

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has recently completed a road improvement project aimed at preserving and enhancing road safety in the upland part of Tabuk City, Kalinga Province.

Completed is a 4.55-kilometer rehabilitation and upgrading project involving asphalt overlay to extend the road’s lifespan, sealing cracks to prevent water infiltration, and repairs on damaged road pavement. These measures ensure the road remains durable and resilient against wear and tear.
