DPWH Begins Construction of Parang East Diversion Road Core Facilities in Maguindanao

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has officially launched the construction of a two-storey Core Head Office Building to serve as the operational hub and kick-off implementation of Parang East Diversion Road under Road Network Development Project in Conflict-Affected Areas in Mindanao (RNDP-CAAM) that will foster infrastructure development and economic growth in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

The Department of Public Works and Highways has completed critical flood control structures along the upstream and downstream sections of the Apurawan River, Barangay Apurawan, Aborlan, Palawan, providing enhanced protection and improved living conditions for the local community.

In a report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, Regional Office IV-B Director Gerald A. Pacanan said that the projects involve the construction of revetment walls upstream and downstream of the river measuring 100.87 meters and 102.41 meters, respectively.

Bypass Road Project Progresses to Ease Traffic in Baguio City

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a portion of the Baguio City Bypass Road Project, aiming to significantly reduce traffic congestion along Major Mane and Kennon Road.

Newly completed segment covers 0.44-kilometer of the 4.374-kilometer bypass road. This section features widened curves, concrete retaining walls, open canal for water drainage, sidewalks, curb, and gutter, which collectively improve road safety and prevent soil erosion in the steep, mountainous terrain.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing a report from DPWH Region XIII Director Pol M. Delos Santos, said that the road project, funded under the 2024 General Appropriations Act (GAA) with a contract amount of P92.6 million, enhances the connectivity and significantly boost tourism in the area.

In his update to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH Region I Director Ronnel M. Tan said that the road improvement project now significantly ensures smoother travel for motorists and nearby residents.

DPWH Expedites Widening of Secondary Road in Southern Leyte

Fisherfolk and residents will soon experience faster, more convenient travel with the ongoing road widening project by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) along a secondary road in the municipalities of Padre Burgos and Malitbog, Southern Leyte province.

Covering 6.67-lane kilometers of the road which connects Bdry. Southern Leyte-Maasin-Macrohon-Sogod-Jct. Daang Maharlika, the expansion involves the construction of an additional 3.35-meter-wide carriageway on both sides, transforming into a four-lane highway with provision of drainage and slope protection.
