Paved Roads Benefit Agri-Communities in Iloilo

The municipality of Zarraga and the district of Jaro in Iloilo now have improved access to agricultural products thanks to two (2) farm-to-market roads (FMR) that the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently concreted.

According to DPWH Region 6 Director Nerie D. Bueno, the road project in Zarraga involves concreting of a 2.9-kilometer, 2-lane portland concrete cement pavement (PCCP) access road with slope protection from Barangay Inagdangan to Barangay Talibong.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has provided Barangay Bacong in San Luis, Aurora with a new multi-purpose sports complex ready for use by residents and sports enthusiast.

In a report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan and DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino, Aurora District Engineer Roderick A. Andal said that a total of P24.5 million was allocated to complete the Bacong Sports Center.

Tan said that the new FMR in Barangay Nagpanaoan is now being utilized by local farmers in transporting their agricultural products to the market and town proper.

Complete with necessary amenities, the new covered gyms were built in barangays Camambugan, Balibagan Eoste, and Agusipan in Sta. Barbara; Cuyad and Ulay Bugang in Alimodian; and Isian Victoria, Barasan, Coyugan Sur, and Nagbangi in Leon.
