New Guibang-Gamu Bypass Road Eases Traffic in Gamu, Isabela

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has recently completed the construction of the Guibang-Gamu Bypass Road in the Gamu, Isabela serving as an alternative road for motorists to the usually congested Daang Maharlika.

Secretary Mark A. Villar, citing a report from DPWH Regional Office 2 OIC-Director Loreta M. Malaluan, said that the project completed on December 2020 is a 1.24-kilometer concrete road with four (4) lanes, 13.4-meter carriageway width, and 300-millimeter thickness.

DPWH Completes River Wall in Balingasag, Misamis Oriental

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar announced that residents of flood-prone area in Balingasag, Misamis Oriental are much safer and protected with the completion of a flood-control structure in the area.

Secretary Villar said that a 263.7-meter long revetment structure was recently built along the Balatukan River in Barangay Mandangoa which used to suffer from the overflow of Balatukan River.

“This structure will prevent the flood brought by the overflowing water from the river”, added Secretary Villar.

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar announced that residents of flood-prone area in Balingasag, Misamis Oriental are much safer and protected with the completion of a flood-control structure in the area.

Villar opens Urdaneta By-Pass Road in Pangasinan

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar led on Monday, January 18, 2021 the ceremonial inauguration of Urdaneta Bypass Road Project.

Secretary Villar said that the completion of the Urdaneta ByPass Road is seen to address traffic bottleneck during peak hours along Manila North Road in Urdaneta City and establish an improved national road system in the Province of Pangasinan.

The road has a total length of 7.17 kilometers and crosses two (2) major road intersections of Urdaneta-Dagupan Road and Urdaneta-Manaoag Provincial Road, added Secretary Villar.

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar announced on Friday, January 15, 2021 that the main trunk line of Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 from Buendia, Makati City up to North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) in Balintawak, Quezon City is now open.

“We have waited long for this project and I am pleased to personally experience that we are now reaping the benefits of using the fastest alternative route between NLEX and South Luzon Expressway”, said Secretary Villar.

DPWH Completes Improvement of 2 Bridges in Ilocos Sur

In an effort to enhance and improve structural integrity of bridges, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the replacement works from temporary to permanent two (2) bridges, located in San Emilio, Ilocos Sur.

According to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, the replacement of Baang and Tiagan Bridge from temporary bailey to permanent concrete ensures safety and improve mobility of not just residents but also agricultural products to the upland municipalities.
