A smoother travel experience going to Mt. Province’s most visited destinations can be expected by travelers with the completion of a road improvement project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Sagada and Bontoc.
Concreted and widened are a total of 4.1 kilometers of Balili-Suyo-Sagada Road that leads to famous Sagada caves, burial caves, museums, ancient villages, rice terraces, waterfalls and other tourist destinations in Mt. Province where nature and culture lovers can explore and appreciate.
An amount of P95.5 million was allocated to improve road to Sagada, to ensure safer, better and easier access of tourists and locals who will directly benefit from the project.
Newly-paved roads are expected to help locals, particularly farmers who deliver their products to the main markets, tourism-dependent business owners, students who strive to go to school and residents that need immediate medical assistance.
The improvement of Balili-Suyo-Sagada Road is part of the continued efforts of DPWH to further strengthen the tourism industry of Cordillera Administrative Region through quality and sufficient infrastructure.
The opening of several sections of Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEx) has also contributed to the influz of tourists travelling to Northern Luzon and the Cordilleras.
