Thursday, March 9, 2017

More than a hundred women engineers participated at the Women Engineers Network (WEN) Forum held at the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Head Office in Port Area, Manila on Wednesday, March 8, 2017.

Led by DPWH Undersecretary and Committee on Gender and Development (COGAD) Chairperson Maria Catalina E. Cabral, the WEN Forum was attended by speakers from the Philippine Technological Council (PTC), Association of Structural Engineers of the Philippines (ASEP), and the University of Santo Tomas (UST) College of Engineering, and participants from various DPWH offices, other government agencies, and the academe.

Undersecretary Cabral, the first female official who has reached the second highest position in the Department and the current and the first female president of Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE), said the forum is well-timed with this year’s International Women’s Day celebration with a campaign theme #BeBoldForChange.
