The Department of Public Works and Highways Regional Office 02 headed by Director Melanio C Briosos gave his marching order to step up construction activities during the Regional Staff conference on February 28, 2017 held at the DPWH R02 conference hall.
The meeting was attended by Division Chiefs and District Engineers together with other Regional staff.
Latest policy direction and instructions from the DPWH Management Committee were discussed by Director Briosos. He urged the conferees to fast-track the implementation of infrastructure activities in preparation for the rainy season. He urged the staff to take advantage of the fair weather during the summer season.
The Director resolutely reiterated the department’s commitment to complete all 2017 infrastructure projects within the year except for big ticket projects worth 200 Million and above. Briosos also gave instructions to implement 24/7 or render overtime services to double the accomplishment of infra projects.
Meanwhile, Assistant Regional Director Alexander D. Nola on the other hand firmly instructed the District Engineers to speed up completion of delayed projects in the previous years and intensify maintenance activities during dry season. He also restated that DEOs with low accomplishment will eventually get low funding as a result of their subpar performance.
Also in the agenda were the issues and concerns of the regional staff which was discussed by the respective Division Chiefs. Among the topics were the presentation of the new department orders and instructions from the Central Office.
DPWH-2 will be implementing a total of 639 projects worth P13.2 Billion under the 2017 infrastructure program.
