More students with visual impairment can now be accommodated by the Philippine High School for the Blind (PNSB) in Pasay City with the completion of a new two-storey school building constructed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
DPWH National Capital Region Melvin B. Navarro said an allocation of P6 million was spent for the building with four (4) classrooms to support the implementation of K to 12 program of the school that is now Senior High ready.
The additional school building was designed and built for persons with disabilities (PWDs).
“This will help boost the scholastic proficiency and keep pace with the changing needs of visually-impaired students,” said Navarro.
The Philippine National School for the Blind (PNSB) is a government-supported residential learning institution established to cater the educational needs of students with visual impairment in the country.
PNSB started in School Year 2016-2017 the implementation of the K to 12 or the additional two years program under the virtue of the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013.
