The Cabadbaran-Puting Bato-Lanuza Roadnetwork has been a piece by piece realization of a dream for the Manobo tribe living in this mountain range connecting the provinces of Agusan del Norte and Surigao del Sur.
An opening for a brighter future for the men, women and children belonging to the ethnic tribe who seemed to be skipped by development and progress that most have already enjoyed.
In CY 2016, Agusan del Norte District Engineering Office supervised the implementation of a 200-Million worth PAMANA project, the Construction/Repair/Rehabilitation/Improvement of Various Infrastructure Including Local Projects – Construction of Cabadbaran-Puting Bato-Lanuza road consists of road upgrading of 3,271.12 meters (PCCP), gravelling of 796.00 meters and provision of drainage structures.
For CY 2017, Construction of Missing Gaps connectting National Roads including ROW at Cabadbaran-Puting Bato-Lanuza Road has a total length of 5.720 km., it has a breakdown of 1.1km PCCP and 4.62 km. Graveling with a provision of drainage and line canal under the supervision of Engr. Marietta A. Castro, under contract with ARQ Builders and targeted to be completed on December 10, 2017. The project will reach the proposed bridge at Sitio Lusong that will soon connect to the boundary of Lanuza, Surigao del Sur.
Commuters using this road net-work will have a feeling of taking a trip to a highway-skyway where you could see the mountain has already touched the sky and down below is the flowing water of a long stream producing a cool breeze of air that would offer a promise of a very re-laxing riding experience for anyone.
In the future scenario, the Manobo people will no longer be a deprived community but a progressive one as Resident of Sitio Lusong a beneficiary of the government’s inclusive economic growth program.
