
Usec. Dimas S. Soguilon, Undersecretary for Regional Operations in Luzon, together with DE George DC. Santos of Nueva Ecija 1st DEO and Caretaker DE Ricardo M. Puno, Nueva Ecija 2nd DEO inspected the roads and bridge projects in the province to see their actual maintenance status on Saturday, September 30, 2017.
Accompanied by DPWH Nueva Vizcaya officials, Usec Soguilon was met by the DPWH Nueva Ecija executives at the boundary of the two adjacent provinces.
Engr. Maximo L. Carvajal, Project Manager III, Road Management Cluster I (Bilateral) of the Unified Project Management Office (UPMO) conferred with the Usec and Nueva Ecija 1st and 2nd DEO’s officials and discussed the proposed road widening projects for along Maharlika Highway.
Usec. Soguilon, formerly the overseer of Visayas and Mindanao operations, inspected the 180-meter barricade or road barrier built along Maharlika Highway in Brgy. Capintalan, Carranglan, Nueva Ecija, the area where the ill-fated Leomarick Trans Bus fell into a ravine.
Passing by San Jose City, Nueva Ecija, the Usec checked the status of the UPMO's rehabilitation of the Sibut Overflow Bridge, that links Aurora province to other parts of Nueva Ecija to as far as western and northern Luzon.
Other UPMO-implemented projects that Usec. Soguilon visited were the Sta. Rosa Section of Maharlika Highway, and the ongoing road widening project in Gapan City, Nueva Ecija.
