The upgrading of 10-kilometer Masbate-Cataingan-Placer Road in the province of Masbate is expected to be completed by end of 2017.

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 5 Director Danilo E. Versola said the P178.2-million road improvement is one of the priority projects of the Department that is seen to enhance socio-economic status of Masbate.

“The Masbate-Cataingan-Placer Road improvement project would strengthen road connectivity within the towns of Uson, Dimasalang, Palanas, Cataingan, and Placer in Masbate and other neighboring areas,” Versola explained.

Versola said the smoother road network would provide convenience to the travelling public and allow faster and efficient movement of agricultural and marine products and other basic services from Masbate to other towns and vice versa.

DPWH aims for the on-time completion of Masbate-Cataingan-Placer Road including related facilities such as drainage structures, metal beam guardrail, slope protection and pavement markings.
