The Department of Public Works and Highways – Cordillera Administrative Region (DPWH-CAR) allotted ₱180 million for the proposed rehabilitation of the Baguio Convention Center under the agency’s 2018 national building program.

Regional Director Nerie D. Bueno, in her letter dated July 31 to Mayor Mauricio G. Domogan, requested the city government for a coordination meeting to discuss the preparation of detailed plans and the conduct of pre-detailed engineering activities for the project.

The Office also proposed for the conduct of a joint inspection with the local government unit on the facility once the city’s technical team have already prepared the initial conceptual plan for the project.

“Please be informed that the completion of the procurement process for all civil works of all identified priority projects to be implemented by the agency is on or before November 30, [ 2017 ] hence, we are hoping that the proposed coordination meeting will be scheduled the soonest,” Director Bueno said.

Mayor Domogan directed the City Building and Architecture Office (CBAO) to coordinate with the DPWH and the Baguio City District Engineering Office (BCDEO) to facilitate the detailed plans and pre-detailed feasibility study for the project.

The local government in turn submitted a list of the city’s priority infrastructure projects to be funded by the agency including the repair and rehabilitation of the Baguio Convention Center.
