No road works nor any possible source of danger could lead to the Christmas Day road crash at Manila North Road in Agoo, La Union.
Assistant District Engineer Raul Gali of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) La Union 2nd District Engineering Office reported that the place of road accident at Barangay San Jose Sur, Agoo, La Union at about 3:30 AM of December 25, 2017 involving jeepney and bus is free from any obstruction or any hazards of on-going projects that may distract attention of drivers or hamper the flow of vehicular traffic.
“At the time of collision between a southbound jeepney and a northbound Partas bus, the said road section is completely provided with road safety devices such as double yellow lanes, edge lines and rumbling strips”, said Engineer Gali.
Engineer Gali added that appropriate “Slowdown”, reflectorized Chevron signages, and lightings were sufficiently installed by DPWH for the safety of motoring public.
Initial police investigation revealed that the private jeepney with 29 passengers on their way to Our Lady of Manaoag Church in Pangasinan was about to overtake another vehicle when it crashed head-on into the Partas bus carrying 31 passengers.
