The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region I gave recognition to its best-performing District Engineering Offices (DEOs) during the 1st Regional Staff Conference held on January 24, 2018.
Pangasinan 4th DEO bested the other nine DEOs in Ilocos Region for bagging the Best District Engineering Office award with its overall average of 90.571%.
DEOs were also recognized on different categories with Ilocos 2nd being hailed as Best in Planning with a score of 94.16%; Ilocos Norte 2nd as Best in Construction with an average of 95.13%; Pangasinan 3rd as Best in Quality Assurance with a score of 79.9%; and Pangasinan 1st as Best in Absorptive Capacity with 99% points; and La Union 1st as Best in Disbursement with an average of 100%.
For the Best in Maintenance award, Ilocos Norte 1st, Ilocos Sur 1st, La Union 1st, La Union 2nd, Pangasinan 2nd, and Pangasinan 4th DEOs shared the spot, all posting an average of 100%.
The offices were assessed according to their accomplishments on pre-construction activities, status of preliminary and detailed engineering of infra projects, workplace cleanliness and orderliness, adherence to “Amend Policy Guidelines on the Maintenance of National Roads and Bridges,” generated status of construction stage over-all funding sources from the Project and Contract Management Application (PCMA), obligation vs. allotment, and disbursement over allotment.
The giving of performance awards for DEOs is pursuant to Executive Order No. 80, in connection with the implementation of a performance-based incentive system in the Department.
