One (1) of the busiest roads in Agusan del Norte leading to Bukidnon has been widened by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
In his report to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, Director Pol M. delos Santos of DPWH Region 13 said 2.98 kilometers portion of Buenavista-Bunaguit Road was recently widened in the amount of P49.5 million under CY 2017 infrastructure program.
Director delos Santos said that the newly-widened Buenavista-Bunaguit Road will address the need for a better and wider road, especially that traffic along this route has been progressively increasing.
“This route is also expected to become a main highway in the future as it is a vital link that will soon connect Agusan del Norte to Bukidnon Province,” added delos Santos.
Since its completion late last year, the newly-improved road is now benefiting farmers and local businessmen transporting their products from the upland areas of Buenavista to neighbouring municipalities, cities and to other provinces.
The widening of Buenavista-Bunaguit Road was implemented by DPWH-Agusan del Norte District Engineering Office in just seven (7) months.
