
Forty (40) economically-disadvantaged youth will be hired by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Central Office this summer of 2018 for its government internship program (GIP).
DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said college students and out-of-school youth with minimum of second year college education aged 18 to 23 are once again encouraged to apply for a learn-and-work experience in government that will allow them to earn as much as 75 percent of the prevailing minimum wage in the National Capital Region.
To apply, qualified individuals must submit one (1) photocopy of birth certificate; fully-accomplished bio-data or personal data sheet; and two (2) recent 1x1 ID photos to the DPWH Capacity Development Division, Human Resource and Administrative Service, 5th Floor, DPWH Head Office Building, Bonifacio Drive, Port Area, Manila, not later than March 9, 2018.
Written examination will be given to qualified applicants on March 16, 2018 and DPWH will hire the top 40 examinees starting April 4, 2018. Interns will be hired and paid a stipend per day of work for the duration of two (2) months.
The government internship program of the DPWH is an annual summer program aimed to help economically-disadvantaged youth finance their education while allowing them to experience firsthand how government institutions operate and how public servants contribute to nation building.
