DPWH builds hanging footbridge for a secluded barangay in Davao Oriental

Friday, March 9, 2018

Residents of a small barangay in the municipality of Tarragona, Davao Oriental will no longer have to worry crossing the river during rainy season with a newly-completed hanging footbridge built by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

DPWH Region 11 Director Allan S. Borromeo said that the project is a 70-lineal meter footbridge at Barangay Limot which used to be isolated when river water is at high level reaching the dilapidated old footbridge.

The new footbridge was built longer and in higher elevation than the previous footbridge to ensure that residents can still cross the river even during rainy season.

Director Borromeo said Limot Footbridge was completed by the DPWH Davao Oriental First District Engineering Office with the contract amount of P2.96 Million within the span of three (3) months.
