The Department of Public Works and Highways – Cagayan Third District Engineering Office (DPWH-CTDEO) completed the construction of a ₱75-million Flood Control System in Barangay San Vicente, Iguig, Cagayan.

According to District Engineer Danilo U. Tabilas, the flood control system was designed to preserve the river banks of Cagayan River in order to safeguard lives, properties, and sources of living of the locals in the area.

“It provides security to communities from floods during heavy rains and typhoons,” he added.

The DPWH-CTDEO has already completed a total of four significant flood control systems in the said municipality since 2013, while there are still three flood control system projects with ongoing construction.
