DPWH readies “Lakbay Alalay” Program for Holy Week

Wednesday, March 21, 2018

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will reactivate its “Lakbay Alalay” Program to provide motorists and commuters as well as local and foreign tourists prompt and reliable assistance this Holy Week.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar ordered field offices nationwide to reactivate the Department’s motorist assistance program starting at 12:00 noon on Holy Wednesday, March 28, 2018 until 12:00 noon on Monday, April 2, 2018.

Motorist Assistance Teams will be deployed on a round-the-clock shift to provide emergency assistance and ensure major thoroughfares are well-maintained, and free from obstructions and potholes. They shall guarantee that appropriate warning, directional, and information signages are legibly and visibly installed.

They are likewise directed to coordinate with the Land Transportation Office, Philippine National Police, Local Government Units and other government agencies for any assistance that may be required.

The public may seek help from the DPWH field personnel with maintenance equipment on standby at navy blue-colored Lakbay Alalay tents along strategic locations nationwide.
