Action Officer in the Marawi City Rehabilitation Efforts ARD Honorato B. Saldua, Jr. attended the Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) Communications Meeting on Improving the Present Conduct of Information and Dissemination on July 13, 2018 at the TFBM Field Office Conference Room, Mahogany Hills, Iligan City together with DPWH-X Public Information Officer (PIO) Vinah Jeanne B. Maghinay.

Presided by TFBM Field Office Manager Asec. Felix J. Castro, Jr., the coordination meeting among PIOs of member agencies was initiated in order to discuss the ways of improving the present dissemination of information about government interventions in Marawi City to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

“The absence of information causes problems,” Asec. Castro said. The discussion centered on immediately redressing priority IDP issues and strengthening IDPs’ access to agency-specific programs and projects for 2018, as well as the formation and deployment of a TFBM information core team in communities.

Responsible cascading of information was also tackled especially at the height of the “fake news” phenomenon in the country. ARD Saldua commented that the Department is careful of releasing to the public every information about its rehabilitation efforts “to avoid misinformation.”
