
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 2 District Engineering Offices (DEO), along with with the District Engineers’ League of the Philippines (DELP), conducted an outreach programs in the various elementary schools in Cagayan Valley.
The Cagayan Third DEO headed by District Engineer Danilo U. Tabilas gave backpacks and school materials to 120 pupils in Manga Elementary School in Penablanca and Garab Elementary School in Iguig, both in the province of Cagayan.
“It’s a priceless feeling to see the smiling faces of these children, their teachers, and parents while receiving the school supplies. It’s very rewarding that we were able to extend help in our simple ways,” DE Tabilas said.
Moreover, the Isabela Second DEO also donated backpacks and umbrellas to 82 pupils of Villa Lucban Elementary School in Benito Soliven.
According to Distict Engineer Reynato M. Ubiña, the “Balik-Eskwela” gift-giving program aims to augment the school needs of incoming elementary pupils.
“We look forward to conducting more projects like this in the future,” he added.
With the theme “Project Pang-eskwela, Hatid ay Saya”, the annual gift-giving activity is now on its third year. It is a nationwide project of DELP.
