Luzon road closures as of noon, Thursday, August 23

Rain may have stopped in most parts of the country but Southwest Monsoon is still affecting the western section of Luzon, resulting to closure of a total of 10 national road sections.

The Department of Public Works and Highways Bureau of Maintenance reported that as of 12:00 noon, Thursday, August 23, 2018, six (6) roads in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) including Kennon Road remain impassable due to recurring debris flow, collapsed road, damaged slope protection, landslide and road slip.

Other affected roads in Cordillera are as follows namely: Benguet-Nueva Vizcaya Road, K0254+200 - K0254+300, in Barangay Beckel, Lamut, Junction, La Trinidad; Baguio-Bua-Itogon Road, K0259+600 Sitio Kiangan Village, in Barangay Ucab, Itogon; Acop-Kapangan-Kibungan-Bakun Road, K0345+600 - K0345+670 section in Bagtangan, Gambang, Bakun, K0330+800-K0330+840 section in Tabbak, Kibungan, K0330+900-K0330+930 section in Tabbak, Kibungan, and K0320+400-K0320+420 in Mayos, Poblacion, Kibungan and the Abra-Ilocos Norte Road, K0451+150-K0451+250, Nagaparan, Danglas, Abra and Tabuk - Banaue Road via Tanudan -Barlig Road, K0543+200- K0543+395, Dumanay Section, Tanudan in Kalinga.

Four (4) road sections in Pampanga are still impassable due to flooding: Sto. Tomas-Minalin Road (Minalin-Macabebe Section), K0070+900 -K0073+600 in Telacsan, Macabebe; Baliwag - Candaba - Sta. Ana Road, Bomba Bridge (Detour Road), K0068+348 in San Agustin, Candaba; Apalit - Macabebe - Masantol Road, K0061+360 - K0063+750 section in Sta. Rita, Macabebe, K0059+000 - K0059+400 section in Sta. Lucia, Matua, Masantol, and K0058+360 - K0058+750 section in Caduang Tete, Macabebe; and the Candaba - San Miguel Road, K0073+400 - K0073+600 section in Paralaya, Candaba.

Heavy vehicles are likewise prohibited along Alaminos-Bolinao Road, Garrita Bridge (detour), K0329+300 section in Bani, Pangasinan and along Junction Talubin-Barlig-Natonin-Paracelis-Calaccad Road, K0472+365-K0472+400 section in Nansuso, Baccari, Paracelis, Mountain Province due to road slip.

According to DPWH-BOM, restoration and clearing operations are continuously undertaken to ensure prompt opening of affected sections.

Damage of monsoon rains and Typhoon “Karding” to national roads, bridges and flood-control structure has so far reached P952 million.
