DPWH RO-2 Launches Journey to ISO Certification

In their thrust to render quality service and excellent management to clients and the general public, the Department of Public Works and Highways Regional Office 02 launched their journey to be certified compliant to the international standards set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) on February 5, 2015 held at the DPWH Region 02 gymnasium.

The office aims to be conferred of the ISO 9001:2008 certification before the month of May 2016 as directed by DPWH Secretary Rogelio L. Singson. DPWH-2 together with other Regional Offices and DEOs in the country has started to comply with the Quality Management System ISO standards and requirements.

The event started by celebrating a thanksgiving mass followed by the ceremonial unveiling of the official tarpaulin poster of the DPWH-2 journey to ISO certification.

Regional Director Nerie D. Bueno said that having an ISO certification means that an agency or company strictly ensures that their management systems operate effectively as a guide for achieving their organizational performance goals, such as commitment to quality and excellent public service.

The occasion was attended by Assistant Regional Director Alexander Nola, Regional staff, Division Chiefs, Assistant Division Chiefs, District Engineers, Assistant District Engineers, Section Chiefs, ISO Core Management Team members and employees.

A comprehensive seminar forum was also held to orient and educate the concerned officials and staff about the Quality Management System Manual, 5s management, systematized procedures and other requirements pertinent to ISO.
