President Duterte inaugurates the Longest Bridge in Oriental Mindoro

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte graced on April 3, 2018 the inauguration of the newly constructed Lisap Bridge in Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro.

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar, Oriental Mindoro Governor Alfonso V. Umali, Jr., 2nd District Representative Reynaldo V. Umali, League of Municipalities of the Philippines President (LMP) Maria Fe V. Brondial, Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go, DPWH Undersecretary Roberto R. Bernardo and DPWH Regional Office IV-B OIC-Regional Director Wilfredo S. Mallari also joined this significant opening of the largest bridge in Oriental Mindoro that outstretches on two distant barangays in Bongabong.

The 365 lineal meters Lisap Bridge, has an allocation of Php 317,760.000 and was completed with an actual project cost of Php 269,071,0452.68, due to savings in materials used and efficient implementation.

President Duterte appreciates the completion of Lisap Bridge as it brings connectivity, unity, peace and order in the conflict-ridden areas of Bongabong. He expressed that having ceasefire between the government and nonconformist group would pave the way for more infrastructure projects and a flourishing economy of the province.

On the other hand, Secretary Villar commended the Southern Mindoro District Engineering Office headed by District Engineer Efren G. Padilla and Assistant District Engineer Annielyn E. Padullo, for taking over on the preparation and post event clearing activities in the inauguration site.

He added, “Lisap Bridge was indeed a fruit of collective endeavor parallel to the department’s “Build Build Build” program for a quality, safe and environment friendly infrastructure facilities, responsive to the needs of the public, enriching national development”.
