
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the widening of Minante Bridge in Isabela and will soon complete three (3) more bridge projects in Cagayan Valley Region.
Director Melanio C. Briosos of DPWH-Region 2 said that the bridges are being constructed as part of the Department’s initiative of improving national bridges and linking rural communities to commercial areas to provide better livelihood opportunities for the locals.
Director Briosos said that the widening from two (2) to four (4) lanes of Minante Bridge along Daang Maharlika in Cauayan, Isabela, costing P32.73 million can now accomodate a larger number of motorists going to and fro Cauayan’s own Rizal Park and Cauayan Aiport.
DPWH is also undertaking the widening of P26.74-million Burgos Bridge along Daang Maharlika, in Barangay Burgos, Municipality of Alicia, Isabela which is expected to finish before the end of 2018.
In Quirino Province, DPWH is presently constructing the Decuraban Bridge Nos. 4 and 5, with a total budget allocation of P60 million.
The construction there two (2) new bridges with a length of 21.6 meters each, have provisions of slope protection structures and detour roads to accommodate vehicles while construction is on-going.
Upon completion, the two (2) bridges traversing Cordon-Aurora Road (Junction Dumabato-Aurora Boundary) is expected to enhance the delivery of basic services in the area and serve as a link to the Province of Aurora in Region 3.
