Department of Public Works and Highways Region 1 tops the awards for the DPWH Eco-Friendly District Engineering Offices search on Environmental Management Program Sustainability.
DPWH Ilocos Norte Second District Engineering Office in San Pablo, San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte headed by District Engineer Mathias L. Malenab garnered the highest point, Rank number 1,in the Regional level and received the Special Award for Best in Greening Program, DPWH Ilocos Sur Second District Engineering Office in Candon City, Ilocos Sur under the supervision of District Engineer Jose G. Ginete, Jr. on the other hand was awarded Best in Water Conservation Program and Mr. Wilson Galang of the same office was given the Huwarang Earth Steward award, all for their compliance to the environmental programs/policies and efforts on environmental management, protection and conservation .
DPWH Ilocos Norte Second, Ilocos Sur Second and Pangasinan Second under DE Edita L. Manuel were the top three DEOs per Regional Office which were given a Certificate of Recognition.
The awards were handed over by DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar last December 17, 2017 at the DPWH Central Office, Manila.
