DPWH half-way done with water supply project in Agno, Pangasinan

The local community of Barangay Gayusan and Barangay Baruan in Agno, Pangasinan will soon benefit from a new water supply facility which is now 50 percent completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

DPWH Region I Director Ronnel M. Tan said the ongoing project which involves the development of a spring source and construction of filtration system, water reservoir, and pipe network is being fast-tracked for completion to serve around 5,000 households.

In her report to Director Tan, DPWH Pangasinan First District Engineer Marieta Mendoza said the spring box, the filtration system, and the 12.6-meter diameter reservoir with a height of 2.95 meters is almost completed.

“We are working closely with the project contractor so that by February 2019, a new water supply facility will be able to provide a safe and abundant source of water in this area of Pangasinan,” said District Engineer Mendoza.

The implementation of the water supply project in Agno, Pangasinan started October 2017 and has received an allocation of P43 million from 2016 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
