The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) continues to deploy crew to ensure vital roads in Iloilo City are accessible and in good condition to cater to the local and foreign tourists joining this year’s Dinagyang and Kasadyahan Festivals.
DPWH Iloilo City District Engineer District Engineer Rodney A. Gustilo said prior to Dinagyang and Kasadyahan Festivals slated January 27 and 26 respectively, maintenance crew has been instructed to work on repainting of road lane markings and gutter, installation of signage and de-clogging of drainage systems.
Maintenance of our city roads are regularly undertaken by our Office to ensure the smooth flow of traffic during the weeklong celebration of the Dinagyang Festival and Kasadyahan Festival,” said DE Gustillo.
DE Gustillo added that there is no ongoing road project within the city, hence tourists are assured that roads are fully-accessible. Ongoing road projects outside the city proper on the other hand which will not affect flow of traffic during the festivals will not be suspended.
DPWH Iloilo District Engineering Office regularly maintains Iloilo City roads - ensuring that they are properly-marked and are free from potholes and obstructions - to guarantee safety and comfort of motorists, bikers and pedestrians especially during festivities.
