The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is completing a P77.55-million road project that is seen to boost corn and vegetable production in Barangay Tinindugan, Sergio Osmeña, Zamboanga del Norte.

DPWH Region 9 Director Cayamombao D. Dia said DPWH Zamboanga del Norte 3rd District Engineering Office (DEO) has accomplished 92 percent of the project involving the construction of a 2-kilometer, 2-lane local road.

The concreting of local road in Sergio Osmeña is being implemented under the Convergence Program of the DPWH and Department of Trade and Industries (DTI) which aims to improve access roads leading to trades, industries, and economic zones.

“We hope to complete the paving of this road early this year as this will greatly support the livelihood of farmers in Barangay Tinindugan,” said Director Dia.

Upon completion of the project, travel time of farmers will be reduced from one (1) hour to just 15 minutes, or as much as 45 minutes of time savings in bringing agri-crops to nearby trade centers.
