The Department of Public Works and Highways – Samar First District Engineering Office conducted a monthly coordination meeting last January 9, 2019, 9:00 AM at DPWH Conference Room.
The meeting is spearheaded by District Engineer Alvin Ignacio together with the project engineers and contractors. The main agenda of the meeting revolved around the plans and Program of Works (POWs) of multi-stories school building (SB) projects, technical aspects of project implementation and the real status of the contract documents.
DE Ignacio urged the contractors to use the preventive approach; tight coordination between the contractor and the Project Engineer was highly recommended, especially in ensuring that the plans are strictly followed, in order to avoid delays in project implementation.
“It is imperative upon the District to construct and complete these school building projects with the right quality in order to ensure the safety of its primary beneficiaries – the students. It is also important that these projects can be delivered to the recipient schools in a timely manner. We are hoping for your full cooperation on this because we cannot do it without your help,” said DE Ignacio as he explained to the contractors their role in the implementation of school building projects.
