
Six DPWH Cadet Engineers – Batch 3 for Engineer II positions take oath at the DPWH-8 Office of the Director, Baras, Palo, Leyte last September 29, 2016.
OIC Director Edgar B. Tabacon presided over the oath taking ceremony which was attended by District Officials – including District Engineer Carlos Veloso of Leyte 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO) and District Engineer Lut Baclea-an of Leyte 3rd DEO. Also in attendance were: Gina L. Franco, Chief, Cash Section of Administrative Division, Engr. Marina Bautista and Engr. Ma. Rosario Margallo.
The new Cadet Engineers sworn in were: Engr. Francis Ley R. Fernandez (Region VII); Engr. Jonas Irvin C. Gallego (Region XI); Engr. Maria Fe F. Guinto (NCR); Engr. John Cris C. Malupa (Region XIII); Engr. Maria Krasel Joy B. Ricare (Bukidnon 1st DEO); and Engr. Irish Jane S. Rodriguez (Region VII).
During the ceremony, cadet engineers recited the oath focused on DPWH five core values: public service, integrity, professionalism, excellence, and teamwork. These new engineers take their responsibilities seriously as public servants.
“You are trained and prepared as the future engineers of our agency. People’s lives depend on our work,” RD Tabacon he said. “When you make a commitment by taking the oath, you are reminded to take pride in your work and to do what’s best for the community,” he added.
Cadet Engineering Program in DPWH was introduced by Secretary Rogelio L. Singson in CY 2013. The program aims to produce the best civil engineers in the country through an extensive training focusing on the development of technical and professional competencies.
