The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) led by Secretary Mark A. Villar has disclosed the completion of the rehabilitation of the Valencia – San Fernando – Talaingod – Panabo – Tagum Road which is a crucial link between Bukidnon and Davao del Norte in Region 11.

Secretary Villar said that DPWH Region 10 implemented the road upgrading of the 43.5-kilometer national road traversing mountainous terrains from Brgy. Kalagangan in the Municipality of San Fernando to Brgy. Poblacion in Valencia City, Bukidnon.

The P949-million rehabilitation of Valencia – San Fernando – Talaingod – Panabo – Tagum Road, which is also called Kapalong-Talaingod-Valencia Road, started in March 2015 and covers the concreting of road and provision of drainages.

With the completion of the project, travel time from Bukidnon to Davao del Norte will be reduced by one hour and fifty minutes as motorists no longer have to pass through Sayre Highway.

“Tourists and locals, especially farmers transporting agricultural products, can now benefit from the unhampered access between Bukidnon and Davao del Norte,” added Secretary Villar.
