DPWH-CSDEO bares completed tourism road projects

The Department of Public Works and Highways – Cagayan Second District Engineering Office (DPWH-CSDEO) announced the completion of four road concreting projects leading to different tourism destinations in the Second District of Cagayan.

The newly-completed projects are: access road with a length of 1.63 kilometers leading to Malagabavi Falls in Pamplona, access road with a length of 0.90 kilometers leading to Pata Lighthouse in Claveria, access road with a legth of 1.35 kilometers leading to Silagan Falls in Allacapan, and access road with a length of 0.80 kilometers leading to Dalayap Falls, also in the same municipality.

According to District Engineer Lorna B. Asuten, these projects amounted to a total of P82 million pesos and were funded and implemented through the partnership of DPWH with the Department of Tourism (DOT) under the Convergence and Special Support Program.

“These road will provide tour operators and business owners the opportunities for advancement,” DE Asuten said. “It will also be a source of income for the residents living near the tourist spots,” she added.

DPWH-CSDEO is also looking forward to the implementation of more tourism road projects for 2019.
