DPWH accepts applicants for a paid internship program this summer

No less than 40 college students and out-of-school youth can learn and earn this summer as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Central Office reopens its government internship program (GIP).

Public Works and Secretary Mark Villar said the Department’s GIP Program in the Cetral Office in Port Area, Manila is open for application to assist economically-disadvantaged youth aged 18 to 23 who have reached a minimum of second year college education.

Qualified individuals may send application requirements: one (1) photocopy of birth certificate; fully-accomplished bio-data or personal data sheet; and two (2) recent 1x1 ID photos to the DPWH Capacity Development Division, Human Resource and Administrative Service, 5th Floor, DPWH Head Office Building, Bonifacio Drive, Port Area, Manila until Friday, March 8, 2019.

Applicants will then have to pass a written examination which will be conducted on March 15, 2019. The top 40 from the examinees will be hired starting April 3, 2019.

Interns will be hired and paid as much as 75 percent of the prevailing minimum wage in the National Capital Region for the duration of two (2) months.
