DPWH extends application deadline for summer internship program to March 22

Thursday, March 7, 2019

College students and out-of-school youth may still apply for the government internship program (GIP) of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Central Office until March 22, 2019.

This was announced by DPWH Secretary Mark Villar, citing the low applicant turnout of the program with original deadline of application set this Friday, March 8, 2019.

“To date, only 10 applicants submitted requirements for this paid internship program. We hope to fill all 40 slots available so we can help as much economically-disadvantaged youth as we can,” said Secretary Villar.

According to Secretary Villar, 40 successful applicants aged 18 to 23 who have reached a minimum of second year college education will be hired and paid as much as 75 percent of the prevailing minimum wage in the National Capital Region for the duration of two (2) months.

Qualified individuals may still send application requirements: one (1) photocopy of birth certificate; fully-accomplished bio-data or personal data sheet; and two (2) recent 1x1 ID photos to the DPWH Capacity Development Division, Human Resource and Administrative Service, 5th Floor, DPWH Head Office Building, Bonifacio Drive, Port Area, Manila until Friday, March 22, 2019.

Written examination will be given to qualified applicants on March 26, 2019 and DPWH will hire the top 40 examinees starting April 3, 2019.
