The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Employees Union held its 5th Annual Convention last February 21-22, 2019 in Vigan Convention Center, Ilocos Sur.
Staging the event with the theme, “Karapatan ng bawat Kawani ng DPWH: Pahalagahan at Pagyamanin”, an overview of Department Order (DO) 42, series of 2016 expounding the revised selection criteria in the appointment of personnel to the first and second level positions, and participation of observers in procurement activities and other employees concerns through questions/queries from the delegates were discussed during the event.
Joining the celebration were DPWH Undersecretary for Support Services Ardeliza R. Medenilla; Mr. Roberto S. Ting, Jr. from the Procurement Service; Ms. Vanessa G. Villanueva and Ms. Rio Anne S. Villamin from the Human Resource and Administrative Service; who served as speakers during the convention.
Also present in the convention was DPWH Region I Assistant Regional Director Emmanuel W. Diaz and OIC-Administrative Section Chief Ms. Susan P. Estillore.
The convention aims to strengthen the working relationship of offices to develop and craft the reinforcement in the quality of work of each employee.
During the event, certificates of recognition were given to the Employees Union Regional Presidents for their valuable contribution in the success of the DPWH Employees Union 5th Annual Convention and the turn-over of the union banner to the host for the sixth (6) convention was given to Region XII delegates.
