5 roads in CAR including Kennon Road still closed due to “Falcon”

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is still clearing roads in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) that were rendered impassable due to Tropical Depression “Falcon”.

In the 12:00 noon, July 19, 2019 report of DPWH Bureau of Maintenance, a total of five (5) roads remain impassable namely Kennon Road which due to unsafe condition; Baguio-Bontoc Road due to road cut; Apayao-Ilocos Norte Road, K0630+050, Madatag, Kabugao Section in Apayao due to soil erosion; Governor Bado Dangwa National Road (formerly Acop-Kapangan-Kibungan-Bakun Road), K0345+800 - K0345+890, Mogao, Gambang, Bakun, Benguet due to road slip; and Tabuk - Banaue Road K0522+200 - K0522+220, Matteled Section, Duplingan, Tanudan, Kalinga due to soil erosion and road cut.

Although clearing operation is still ongoing, concerned DPWH maintenance personnel in CAR have so far opened four (4) road sections in Apayao that were previously closed due to “Falcon, namely: K0610+100 - K0610+130 and K0622+900-k0622+930 sections of Apayao-Ilocos Norte Road in Barangay Madduang, Kabugao; K0711+950 - K0711+974 section of Claveria-Calanasan-Kabugao Road in Kabuwagan, Calansan; and K0725+000 - K0725+025 section of Apayao-Ilocos Norte Road in Namaltugan, Calanasan.

In Region 2, the Bangag-Magapit Road, K0693+500 - K0694+000, Allacapan Section and Detour road of Ngilinan Bridge along NRJ Villa Sur-San Pedro-Cabuaan-Ysmael-Disimungal Road, K0368+628 - K0369+015, in Barangay San Pedro, Madella, Quirino are now passable.
