Department of Public Works and Highways receives the GADtimpala 2018 citation from the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) during the 10th Year Anniversary Celebration of the Magna Carta for Women at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) held on August 15, 2019. The award received by DPWH Undersecretary Maria Catalina Cabral cited the agency for its efforts in pursuing gender equality and women empowerment within the organization and among its clientele. DPWH also won the GADtimpala Bronze Award for Outstanding Gender-Responsive Government Flagship Project for its Secondary National Road Development Project (SNRDP) along the 222-km Wright-Taft-Borongan-Guian Road in the Provinces of Samar and Eastern Samar. The SNRDP served as the catalyst for DPWH to continue its anti-trafficking in persons advocacy and in setting up safeguards to prevent trafficking in all its infrastructure projects.
