Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar announced that construction of the new four (4) storey medical building by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Davao Oriental Provincial Medical Center is in full blast and will soon be serviceable to the public.
Based on an updated report from DPWH Region 11 Director Allan S. Borromeo, Secretary Villar said that the DPWH Davao Oriental Second District Engineering Office (DEO) is fast tracking the completion of the additional facility in the hospital compound.
“This additional facility is expected to enhance delivery of health care services to patients not only in the provincial capital in Mati City but for the whole province of Davao Oriental,” said Secretary Villar.
The new facility is complete with wards, private and semi-private rooms, nurses’ station, and isolation rooms as well as kitchen, laundry and restrooms, with a total cost of P41-million.
Started in January of this year, the improvement of Davao Oriental Provincial Medical Center is implemented through the convergence program of DPWH and Department of Health (DOH).
