The Department of Public Works and Highways Regional Office No. IV-A (DPWH-ROIV-A) has activated once again its “Lakbay Alalay” or the motorist assistance program in anticipation of the forthcoming Undas 2019. R4A will once again ensure that motorists going to memorial parks or travellers who are on their way back to their hometowns will have the ‘best trip ever’ through the agency’s Lakbay Alalay.

Regional Director Samson L. Hebra said that the Region, in coordination with its sixteen (16) district engineering offices will be deploying a composite team within its jurisdiction on a round-the-clock shift from 7am on October 31 to 12 noon of November 4, 2019.

R4A’s Lakbay Alalay is an annual public service program of DPWH that is set to make sure that all stations strategically located in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon have standby service vehicles, operational mechanical tools and enough number of personnel to properly assist the motorists in case of roadside emergencies and give clear directions especially to tourists.

The program also includes traffic service maintenance or installation of necessary traffic advisories, installation of reflectorized pavement markings, removal of obstructions along the right-of-way of national roads and bridges, and the proper installation of warning signs and directional signs on conspicuous locations.

RD Hebra further added that the motorist assistance program will be in close coordination with other government agencies such as Land Transportation Office (LTO), Philippine National Police (PNP) and officials Local Government Units (LGUs).
