Construction of Lagarian Bridge III, linking Scout Tobias St., Brgy. Obrero & Doña Hemady St., Brgy. Kristong Hari, Quezon City, “ has finally been completed last September 26, 2014.
The project which involves 3 phases with a total project cost of P79 Million was conceptualized based on the QCSED’s desire to provide alternate route to and from different roads within the 3rd and 4th Congressional Districts of Quezon City, thus, alleviate traffic congestion in major roads such as Quezon Avenue.
Implementation of the project though was not a walk in the park. It encountered various problems and delays delays brought about by Road-Right-of-Way issues and weather conditions. A total of 277 informal settlers were needed to be relocated and several privately owned properties were needed to be acquired before starting the project.
But all the patience and hard work seemed to worth it, bearing in mind the benefit that the public may get from the project, especially the motorists.
The newly constructed bridge connects Barangay Obrero and Kristong Hari. It provides motorist alternative route going to E. Rodriguez from Quezon Avenue and Timog Avenue area, and vice versa.
The project was inaugurated on October 2, 2014 attended by House of Representative Speaker Feliciano “Sonny” Belmonte, and other Officials of Quezon City.
