DPWH accomplishes upgrading of Don Alejandro Roces Avenue in Quezon City

Wednesday, December 11, 2019

Motorists who pass through Don Alejandro Roces Avenue can now have a safer and smoother travel, following the Department of Public Works and Highways’ (DPWH) completion of the road’s rehabilitation.

Finished five (5) months sooner than its target accomplishment, DPWH National Capital Region (NCR) Director Ador G. Canlas said that the Quezon City II District Engineering Office intently hastened construction works to cater to the volume of motorists traversing the avenue.

“Since the road upgrading commenced in July, the implementing office has been working tirelessly to complete the project earlier as the Avenue serves as an alternate route going to Tomas Morato, Mother Ignacia, as well as Scout Streets, and vice versa,” Director Canlas added.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar lauded its speedy completion, citing the department’s efforts to increase its disbursement rate.

The P18.44 million project, funded under the 2019 General Appropriations Act (GAA), involves upgrading of damaged concrete pavement with a total length of 876.20-lineal meters from 0.23 meters to 0.30 meters thick.
