Three (3) months after the assessment/evaluation conducted by the Bureau of Research and Standards (BRS) from DPWH – Central Office for the upgrading of category from 1-star to 2-star rating of Leyte 4th District Office Materials Testing Laboratory finally, the DEO had received its Certificate as 2- Star Materials Testing Laboratoy.
Leyte 4th DEO is the first among the 13 DEOs in Region VIII to be certified as 2-Star category in Materials Testing Laboratoy. Morever, the said accreditation is important in Leyte 4th DEO as it gives added income to the office allowing contractors to have their materials tested instead of having it tested in private companies. It will also allow the DEO to fast track the projects, since the results of the tested materials are readily available.
