
Improved and better road facilities is now being enjoyed in the First district of Northern Samar with the completion of two preventive maintenance projects in the municipalities of Catarman and San Isidro, N. Samar.
DPWH NS1 completed two preventive maintenance projects namely; Preventive Maintenance of Primary Roads Along Daang Maharlika in San Isidro, N. Samar with a funding of Php29 Million; and the Preventive Maintenance of Secondary Roads along Catarman-Calbayog Road with a fund allocation of Php48 Million.
Its scope of work covers asphalting, reblocking and preparation of aggregate subbase course.
“Improve road accessibility for better mobility of people and products and safety of the commuters is now being realized.”, DE Roldan said.
Preventive maintenance along national roads is important to reduce/prevent accidents, injuries, damage to properties.
Before it has been reported that Daang Maharlika has worst road condition because of its critical and serious condition that affect the safety of motorists since it is among of the busiest major roads in the province for it links Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, with the completion of the project a better road facility is now accessible.
Preventive maintenance works on roads are priority projects of the government to fulfill its commitment to uplift the social and economic status of every Filipino.
