The Department of Public Works and Highways Leyte Third Engineering Office implemented 2 infastractures in Sitio Caigit,Brgy.Suba,Villaba,Leyte ; a farm-to-market road which recently started and flood control system constructed along Caigit River that is presently at 45% completion.
According to District Engineer Carlos G. Veloso that the 32-million road concreting of 2.32 kilometres with 9.10 meters wide shoulder will soon allow the farmers to transport their goods in a more convenient way and will save 10 minutes of their travel time instead of travelling 40-50 minutes to Cabungaan Village and to other neighboring villages.
As seen that the residents living in this village as well as the motorists are at risk especially during rainy
seasons which they overcome to travel in a muddy and uneven path.
Meanwhile, DPWH-3rd DEO is also currently constructing flood control structure in the same sitio which it will help block water influx in the low residential areas during onset of heavy rains.
The 4-million river control system spans 125 lineal meters.
Both projects were funded under the DPWH’s General Appropriations Act of 2019.
