DPWH Pangasinan 3rd DEO report progress of P96M worth of access roads in Sison, Pangasinan

In line with the Department of Public Works and Highways’ (DPWH) convergence program with the Department of Tourism (DOT)— through its social responsibility to make tourism destination in the country more accessible to the public — DPWH Pangasinan 3rd District Engineering Office recently conducted an actual field inspection of access road project in the Municipality of Sison, Pangasinan

In a report, District Engineer Gerardo T. De Guzman said that the work status of the P96M road construction and improvement of access road leading to declared tourism destination Antong Falls in Brgy. Labayug, Sison, Pangasinan, which begins in Brgy. Labayug and ends in Brgy. Inmalog, is now 56.30% substantially complete. According to Engr. Reynald Barrera, the District’s Monitoring Engineer, this road-concreting project includes the construction of a 2.6km of access roads.

Meanwhile, Public Information Officer Engr. Narchito S. Arpilleda, Ph. D. said that once the project is completed, travelers to Antong Falls will no longer have problems in reaching the place. Tourists will be able to visit the said tourist destination with easier access and will spark economic growth as it will improve the livelihood of the people living in the area.

Furthermore, the DPWH Pangasinan 3rd District Engineering Office is also underway with the implementation of its remaining tourism road projects.
