The booming tourist destination that showcases “sea of clouds” in the municipality of Dupax del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya will soon be more accessible with the ongoing road project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said the tourism road project which covers the paving of two (2) kilometers of Junction National Road-Bitnong-Belance-Nueva Vizcaya Boundary Road is now 93 percent completed.
“Very soon, the entire two (2) kilometers of this road will be paved and visitors will no longer have to trek or pass bumpy narrow road just to witness this wonderful cloud formation display in Dupax del Norte,” said Secretary Villar.
“With the completion of this access road project this year, we expect the influx of tourists that will provide additional income opportunities for locals in the area,” added Secretary Villar.
DPWH Nueva Vizcaya Second District Engineering Office, under the leadership of District Engineer Glenn C. Miguel, implemented the concreting of Junction National Road-Bitnong-Belance-Nueva Vizcaya Boundary Road Dupax del Norte starting in June 2019.
The project was funded under 2019 General Appropriations Act (GAA) amounting to P48.99 Million.
