Access between Solano town and the inner municipalities of Quezon and Kasibu, in the Province of Nueva Vizcaya is now safer with the recent completion of Maddiangat Bridge Replacement Project in the town of Quezon.
“Locals are now reaping the benefits of the newly-completed Maddiangat Bridge which provides 2-minute land travel access to and from Solano and Quezon towns even during heavy rains and flashfloods,” said Secretary Villar.
“Prior to the completion of a new bridge, motorists have to endure 30-minute makeshift boat ride to cross Magat River because the old bridge was damaged,” explained Secretary Villar.
DPWH Region 2 Director Loreta M. Malaluan reported that the new bridge with eight (8) spans, 600 meters of approach on both ends, concrete slope protection, embankment, and grouted riprap, is designed to be more durable with higher elevation.
With the completion of new Maddiangat Bridge, Director Malaluan added that vehicular movement will be improved along Bambang, Kasibu, Quezon, and Solano roads.
